Overview

Cherry Trade was an AI-assisted trading and research platform for serious retail investors and professionals. Its premise was that the problem with modern investing tools is not a shortage of information but the volume of it: filings, news and price action arrive faster than any individual can read them, and most consumer platforms answer that by adding gamification rather than judgement. Cherry stripped the surface back to a single calibrated workspace for rapid decision-making.

The product

The platform was built around the Cherry Terminal — a command center organised by portfolio sleeve, showing holdings, live positions and a per-ticker confidence read in one view. A Live Digest surfaced only what had changed and why it mattered: a position aligned with its sleeve and still inside the risk budget, a defensive holding balanced against target mix, an earnings window worth watching next week.

The architecture

Four principles defined the product:

  • Curated context. The model compressed filings, news and price action into short briefs written against the user's own portfolio rather than a generic watchlist.
  • Aligned with you. New ideas were shown in terms of existing sleeves and risk, which cut ad-hoc trades in favour of decisions that matched a stated plan.
  • Portfolio awareness. Holdings, history and open questions stayed in one place, so a user never re-explained their strategy to a blank screen.
  • Absolute control. The model suggested and summarised; the user chose execution, sizing and broker. Nothing moved without authorisation.

How it worked

Onboarding was deliberately thin. A user brought their portfolio in by pasting holdings, uploading a CSV or linking read-only access, and Cherry learned their sleeves, sizes and constraints. From there the interface was plain English — "Where am I overexposed this week?", "Summarise NVDA's filing" — answered against their actual positions. Decisions were reviewed in a focused digest and executed wherever the user already traded.

Access and outcome

Cherry ran as a free private beta, released in batches by waitlist, with full platform access and no card required during the beta phase.
